Yamaha extends partnership with Monster Energy

Yamaha has extended its partnership with Monster Energy, which will continue to be the title sponsor of the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team for another year.

Yamaha declared the continuation of its collaboration with its key sponsor, Monster Energy just after announcing the renewal of Fabio Quartararo’s contract for another two seasons.

The energy drink company has been an official sponsor of the team since 2013, and in 2019 became the title sponsor, demonstrating its commitment to racing.

The factory Yamaha team won the MotoGP Triple Crown in 2015, the Team Championship in 2016, and the MotoGP World Championship in 2021 during this time.

“The Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya is the perfect occasion to announce the continuation of our team‘s strong partnership with Monster Energy Company,” Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director, Lin Jarvis said.

“Monster Energy has a great understanding of the motorsports industry and MotoGP which allows us both to work together very smoothly,” added Jarvis.

“This title sponsorship renewal is a testament to the great trust and respect we‘ve built over the years as well as the shared drive of both organisations to continue supporting motorcycle sports and promoting our brand values.”

Furthermore, the renewal ensures that the Monster Energy ‘claw’ marking will be featured ‘prominently’ on the factory YZR-M1, all Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team assets, and the riders’ leathers in the following years.

“Watching Fabio win the MotoGP World Championship last year on board his Monster Energy Yamaha YZR-M1 was one of many highlights we have enjoyed in our time together, and we look forward to several more years of racing together with Yamaha in MotoGP,” Rodney Sacks, Chairman and Co-CEO of Monster Energy Company said.

“We are delighted to be able to announce this extension at our title sponsorship round in Barcelona and wish both Franco, Fabio, and the entire team success for the weekend and for the remainder of the season.”

Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo are both well-known Monster Energy athletes. Quartararo, the reigning World Champion, is back in championship contention after signing a two-year extension with the squad. He presently holds an eight-point lead in the standings.

It’s worth noting that this collaboration isn’t restricted to MotoGP. According to an official announcement, this’marriage’ also includes the AMA Supercross/Motocross framework as well as Yamaha’s structure in the Motocross World Championship.
