Full 2025 Miami E-Prix Race Results – Formula E’s return to the Sunshine State delivered a spectacle with Pascal Wehrlein emerging victorious in a race defined by relentless drama, strategic gambits and a flurry of penalties.

The event held at the iconic Homestead-Miami Speedway was a showcase of electric racing at its most unpredictable as the world’s top drivers battled not only each other but also the unique demands of energy management and the ever-present threat of regulatory infractions.

From the outset the 2025 Miami E-Prix promised excitement. Nissan’s Norman Nato secured pole position in a fiercely contested qualifying session setting the stage for what many anticipated would be a breakthrough performance.

As the lights went out, Nato led the field into the opening corners with TAG Heuer Porsche’s António Félix da Costa and Andretti’s Jake Dennis immediately applying pressure.

Nyck de Vries starting from fifth wasted no time in making his presence felt, surging up to third and then challenging for the lead as the pack jostled for position in the early laps.

The first phase of the race was characterized by tactical restraint as drivers carefully managed their usable energy, aware that the Miami circuit’s long straights and technical sections would punish any miscalculation.

By lap five, Nato had reasserted his lead but the order behind him was in constant flux with da Costa and de Vries trading places and the field often running three or four wide through the sweeping turns.

As the 2025 Miami E-Prix approached its midpoint the mandatory use of Attack Mode—a temporary 50kW power boost activated by driving through a designated zone—became a focal point.

The first wave of activations saw Stoffel Vandoorne and de Vries leap to the front with de Vries briefly taking command of the race.

Da Costa, however, was the standout in terms of energy efficiency, consistently running with a three percent advantage over his closest rivals, a testament to both his driving acumen and Porsche’s technical prowess.

Andretti’s Nico Müller delivered one of the drives of the day, climbing an astonishing 17 positions from his starting slot to briefly lead the race on lap 15. His charge through the field was emblematic of the unpredictable nature of Formula E where energy management, opportunistic overtaking and the timing of Attack Mode activations can transform a race in an instant.

Da Costa soon reclaimed the lead with his teammate Pascal Wehrlein joining him at the front as Porsche executed a coordinated strategy to maximize their advantage.

The race’s defining moment arrived in the closing stages as a three-car incident involving Taylor Barnard (NEOM McLaren), Jake Hughes (Maserati MSG Racing) and Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing) triggered a red flag.

The resulting stoppage threw race strategies into disarray as several drivers—including the leading Nato—had not yet completed their mandatory Attack Mode activations.

The compressed timeline left little opportunity for those affected to fulfill the requirement, setting the stage for a post-race reshuffling of the order.

When the race resumed the intensity only increased. Pascal Wehrlein who had measured his efforts expertly throughout seized the initiative, overtaking da Costa in Attack Mode to claim the net lead.

Nato, undeterred, fought back valiantly, crossing the finish line just 0.119 seconds ahead of Wehrlein in what appeared to be a sensational 2025 Miami E-Prix victory—the second-closest winning margin in Formula E history.

However, the celebrations were short-lived. Stewards quickly determined that Norman Nato along with several others had failed to complete the required Attack Mode activations due to the timing of the red flag.

The resulting penalties demoted Nato to sixth, handing Wehrlein a dramatic and hard-earned 2025 Miami E-Prix victory.

Lola Yamaha ABT’s Lucas di Grassi was one of the chief beneficiaries of the post-race penalties. The Brazilian veteran who had qualified seventh and spent much of the race in the top ten capitalized on the late chaos to secure second place—his first podium in over 35 races.

Da Costa, despite the setback of being caught out by the safety car during his Attack Mode activation battled back to claim third, ensuring a double podium for Porsche and reinforcing the team’s resurgence after a challenging start to the season.

Nico Müller’s remarkable drive was rewarded with fourth place, a fitting result for the Andretti driver at the team’s home race. Edoardo Mortara continued Mahindra’s upward trajectory with a solid fifth-place finish while Nato was left to rue what might have been as he settled for sixth.

Dan Ticktum (CUPRA KIRO), Robin Frijns (Envision Racing), Jake Dennis (Andretti), and Zane Maloney (Lola Yamaha ABT) rounded out the top ten, with Maloney earning his first points in Formula E and contributing to a strong team performance for Lola Yamaha ABT.
