Oscar Piastri in trouble after Silverstone visit

Oscar Piastri is in hot water after attending the MotoGP World Championship’s British race on Saturday.

Oscar Piastri will be held accountable after uploading an image of himself on social media during his trip to the British Grand Prix.

McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris made the most out of their first weekend away from F1 over the summer break by attending the MotoGP race at Silverstone, which served as the British Grand Prix of motorcycle racing.

During F1’s summer hiatus, the 22-year-old took advantage of the opportunity to network with a variety of riders and teams, and even got a chance to get on Johann Zarco’s Pramac Racing Ducati.

Ahead of the MotoGP race, Piastri was seen wishing Marc Marquez well over a brief conversation. However, the Australian then shared something on social media that got him into trouble at home.

Piastri later met French racer Jorge Martin and hopped aboard Jorge Zarco’s Ducati, one of Pramac Racing’s machines, to pose for some photos.

However, his mother, Nicole, who is well-known on Twitter for being a frequent supporter of her son, spotted the post.

She was very clear that as long as she had any say in the issue, her son will not be riding a MotoGP bike for his career.

“Oh no you don’t!!!” she said. “Move away from the bike Oscar Jack Piastri. My heart can barely cope with cars.”

This weekend’s best two-wheeled racing was witnessed at Silverstone by more than just Piastri from McLaren.

Lando Norris, a devoted supporter of MotoGP who was there at the track on Sunday to cheer on Fabio Quartararo, even swapped helmets with the 2021 world champion.

Alex Marquez won the sprint on Saturday, Aleix Espargaro took first place in the MotoGP race with a last-lap overtake on Francesco Bagnaia, the defending champion and leading in the championship standings.
