Newly-appointed Porsche factory driver Nico Muller is poised to make his highly anticipated IMSA debut at the prestigious Sebring 12 Hours this weekend.
The Swiss racer will take the wheel of the Porsche 963 LMDh, a cutting-edge endurance racing machine, as part of the JDC-Miller MotorSports team.
The announcement marks a huge milestone in Nico Muller’s career showcasing his versatility and adaptability as he transitions into the world of IMSA SportsCar Championship.
Muller’s entry into the iconic Sebring 12 Hours comes as part of Porsche’s strategic placement of its factory drivers across various motorsport disciplines. Having joined Porsche’s roster last year, Muller has already been tapped to represent the marque in Formula E with Andretti Autosport for the 2024-25 season.
His Sebring appearance further underscores Porsche’s confidence in his capabilities, leveraging his extensive experience in endurance racing from his time with Peugeot in the World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Nico Muller will make his IMSA debut alongside seasoned drivers Gianmaria Bruni and Tijmen van der Helm, both of whom bring valuable experience to the JDC-Miller squad.
The Sebring 12 Hours is renowned as one of the most challenging races on the IMSA calendar. The event takes place at Sebring International Raceway, a historic venue known for its unforgiving track surface and grueling conditions.

Drivers must contend with rough concrete runways, narrow asphalt roads, and unpredictable weather ranging from scorching heat to torrential rain. Winning at Sebring is considered a badge of honor in endurance racing, requiring not only technical precision but also mental and physical resilience.

For Muller, this race represents an exciting opportunity to familiarize himself with the Porsche 963 LMDh platform under competitive conditions.
While the 33-year old has previously competed at Sebring during WEC’s “Super Sebring” weekend, this will be his first outing in IMSA since his debut at the 2022 Daytona 24 Hours with High Class Racing.
“I can’t wait to turn my first laps in the Porsche 963 and compete in my first prestigious Sebring 12 hours,” said Nico Muller. “It’s great being back in IMSA.
“I have previously competed at Sebring when WEC was part of the ‘Super Sebring’ weekend. I loved following the IMSA action during the 12-hour.
“It’s known as the toughest race on the IMSA calendar. I am confident that together with JDC-Miller Motorsports, Gimmi, and Tijmen, all who bring lots of Sebring 963 experience to the table.
“That strong foundation will speed up my 963 learning process. One more good omen: Yellow is one of my favorite racing colors.”
The addition of Muller to JDC-Miller’s lineup is seen as a strategic move to bolster the team’s chances in this demanding race. Team boss John Church highlighted his credentials and praised Porsche for facilitating the collaboration.
“Adding Nico Muller to our already strong driver lineup with Tijmen and Gimmi, builds on the confidence we have coming off our very strong run at Daytona,” Church said. “Thanks to our friends at Porsche for all their efforts in making it happen.”

With Muller joining Bruni and van der Helm, JDC-Miller is expected to field a formidable trio capable of competing against some of the best endurance racers in the world.
Beyond Sebring, Muller’s IMSA debut could have broader implications for Porsche’s factory racing program. His performance may influence decisions regarding driver assignments for other high-profile events, including Le Mans.
Porsche currently has one vacancy in its Le Mans squad following a downsizing of its LMDh roster from ten to eight drivers for 2025.
Nico Muller’s appearance at Sebring positions him as a strong contender for the coveted seat alongside Nick Tandy and Felipe Nasr in Porsche Penske Motorsport’s third factory-entered 963.
