NASCAR fines two teams for lug-nut violations

NASCAR fined one team apiece in the Xfinity Series and Camping World Truck Series for lug-nut violations during last weekend’s events at Texas Motor Speedway.

Following Saturday’s SRS Distribution 250 in the Xfinity Series, one unfastened lug nut was discovered on the Kaulig Racing No. 16 Chevrolet driven by AJ Allmendinger. Bruce Schlicker, crew chief for the No. 16 car, was penalised $5,000 for violating Section 8.8.10.4a of the NASCAR Rule Book.

In the Camping World Trucks’ Speedycash.com 200, a single-lug infringement was discovered on the No. 18 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota driven by Chandler Smith. The crew chief, Danny Stockman Jr., received a $2,500 fine.

Allmendinger has finished in the top ten in each of the Xfinity Series’ 12 races this season, and he now leads the standings. He finished ninth at Texas, continuing his winning streak.

Meanwhile, Smith finished ninth last weekend, moving him into third place in the Truck Series points.
