Full 2025 Miami E-Prix qualifying Results – Norman Nato secured his first-ever Formula E pole position at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The Nissan driver narrowly edged out Andretti’s Jake Dennis by just 0.129 seconds, clocking a lap time of 1:23.037. This achievement not only marks a significant milestone in Nato’s Formula E career but also sets the stage for an intense race day in Round 5 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
The 2025 Miami E-Prix qualifying session was characterized by its unpredictability and high stakes, as drivers competed on the challenging 3.551 km circuit which features a distinctive double ‘U’ layout.
Norman Nato’s precision and consistency throughout the session earned him a well-deserved spot at the front of the grid, along with three valuable championship points.
Jake Dennis who had hoped to secure a home Formula E pole for Andretti put up a strong fight but ultimately settled for second place. António Félix da Costa of TAG Heuer Porsche claimed third position completing a tightly contested top three.

Envision’s Robin Frijns secured fourth place showcasing impressive pace and consistency. Nyck de Vries, racing for Mahindra, rounded out the top five with a solid performance that demonstrated his adaptability to the Miami circuit.
Maserati MSG’s Stoffel Vandoorne claimed sixth place, further highlighting the competitive nature of this year’s grid.
Lucas di Grassi made headlines by securing seventh place for Lola Yamaha ABT, marking the team’s first appearance in the quarterfinal duels this season. Cupra Kiro’s David Beckmann took eighth place, while Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein and Mahindra’s Edoardo Mortara completed the top ten.
The middle section of the grid featured several surprises in Miami E-Prix qualifying. NEOM McLaren’s Taylor Barnard who had topped the second free practice session earlier in the day, ended up in 11th place after struggling to replicate his earlier form.

Sébastien Buemi of Envision Racing secured 12th place followed by Jaguar TCS Racing teammates Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans in 13th and 14th places, respectively.
Cupra Kiro’s Dan Ticktum took 15th place while Nissan’s Oliver Rowland experienced a disappointing session, finishing 16th after an error at Turn 12 forced him to abort his final lap.
Further down the order, DS Penske’s Jean-Éric Vergne and Andretti’s Nico Müller occupied 17th and 18th positions, respectively. NEOM McLaren’s Sam Bird and Lola Yamaha ABT’s Zane Maloney started from 19th and 20th places on Row 10.

The back row featured Maserati’s Jake Hughes in 21st place and DS Penske’s Maximilian Günther in 22nd. Günther faced additional challenges after being handed a five-place grid penalty for a collision in Jeddah during an earlier round.
The 2025 Miami E-Prix qualifying also brought its share of controversies and investigations. Several drivers, including Lucas di Grassi and Pascal Wehrlein, were under scrutiny for pit lane infringements but ultimately escaped penalties. These incidents added another layer of intrigue to an already dramatic day.
