The Miami E-Prix 2025 kicked off with an exciting first free Formula E practice session where Jaguar TCS Racing’s Nick Cassidy set the pace, leading the pack with a lap time of 1:23.785.

The opening Miami E-Prix 2025 session was marked by a mix of sunshine and lingering water on the track, following a downpour that had cancelled the shakedown earlier in the day.

Nick Cassidy’s strong start was a testament to his adaptability and skill as he navigated the challenging conditions at the Homestead Miami circuit. His teammate Mitch Evans also showed promising form finishing fourth in the session with a time of 1:23.966.

This placed him just behind NEOM McLaren’s Taylor Barnard who took third with a lap of 1:23.956. Barnard, a young and ambitious driver, has been making waves in the Formula E scene and his performance in Miami highlighted his potential to become one of the youngest race winners in the series.

Reigning Formula E champion Pascal Wehrlein faced a tough start to the session. Initially, he struggled to find pace, sitting near the bottom of the timesheets with a lap of 1:26.498.

However, he managed to improve significantly, eventually moving up to fifth place with a time of 1:24.063. This recovery demonstrated Wehrlein’s resilience and ability to adapt under pressure traits that have been crucial to his success in the championship.
