Miami Circuit will feature three DRS zones

As the sport makes its debut at the Miami International Autodrome, drivers will have three DRS detection zones to work with.

The FIA has confirmed that three DRS zones will be in effect at this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.

The initial detection site is located right after Turn 8 on the 5.412-kilometer Miami International Autodrome, with activation taking place between Turns 9 and 11.

The second detection line is located at the exit of Turn 16, with activation on the long straight before Turn 17, and the last detection zone is located between Turns 17 and 18, with activation on the main straight.

Sakhir (Bahrain), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), the Red Bull Ring (Austria), the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez (Mexico), and Albert Park (Australia) are the only circuits on the F1 calendar with more than three DRS zones for a whole weekend (Australia).

Albert Park appeared to be on track to break that record in 2022, with four DRS zones initially planned, only to be reduced to three after practice.
