Full 2025 Qatar MotoGP Sprint Race Results – Marc Marquez delivered a dominant run to win the sprint, reclaiming the championship lead from his brother Alex.
The Ducati Lenovo Team rider, already a legend in the sport, continued his impeccable form this season by securing his fourth consecutive Sprint victory.
The 2025 Qatar MotoGP Sprint Race was a thrilling spectacle marked by intense battles, strategic overtakes, and a display of exceptional racing prowess from the grid’s top competitors.
Starting from pole position for the fourth time this season, Marc Marquez wasted no time asserting his authority as the lights went out. He executed a flawless start to grab the holeshot into Turn 1, fending off challenges from his younger brother Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing) and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha).
The opening lap was a fierce contest with Alex Marquez briefly overtaking Marc at Turn 1 on Lap 2. However, Marc quickly retaliated to reclaim the lead, setting the tone for what would be an unrelenting charge to victory.
Behind Marc, the battle for podium positions unfolded with equal intensity as Pertamina Enduro VR46 Ducati’s Franco Morbidelli delivered a stellar performance to secure third place.

The Italian rider demonstrated remarkable consistency throughout the race, holding off late challenges from Fermin Aldeguer and Fabio Quartararo.
BK8 Gresini Racing rookie Aldeguer impressed with his mid-to-late race pace ultimately finishing in fourth place after a dramatic last-lap maneuver on Quartararo.
However, Quartararo’s race was a tale of resilience as he fought hard to maintain his position among the frontrunners. Despite starting from the front row he struggled to match the pace of the leaders but managed to secure a respectable fifth-place finish.

Morbidelli’s teammate at Pertamina VR46 Ducati Fabio Di Giannantonio followed closely in sixth place after a solid performance that highlighted his growing confidence on the GP25 machine.
Meanwhile, Ai Ogura delivered an impressive performance for Trackhouse Aprilia by finishing seventh and emerging as one of the standout riders outside the factory teams.
Francesco Bagnaia endured a challenging evening. Starting from 11th on the grid, the Italian rider made steady progress but could only manage an eighth-place finish after being overtaken by several riders in critical moments.
Bagnaia’s struggles were emblematic of a tough weekend for Ducati Lenovo’s second rider, who will need to regroup ahead of Sunday’s main race.
Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi claimed ninth place after a consistent run that saw him capitalize on others’ mistakes. Meanwhile, Maverick Viñales rounded out the top ten for Red Bull KTM Tech3 despite an aggressive start that initially placed him in contention for higher positions.
Viñales’ gamble on soft tires ultimately backfired as he lost pace in the latter stages of the race.
Further down the order, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha) also had commendable outings but fell short of breaking into the top ten.
The 2025 Qatar MotoGP Sprint Race was not without its disappointments and drama. Jorge Martin, returning from an injury layoff, battled pain to finish down in 16th.
Other notable names like Jack Miller and Joan Mir failed to finish due to mechanical issues and crashes, adding further unpredictability to an already action-packed event.
As Marc Marquez crossed the finish line with a commanding lead of 1.577 seconds over Alex Marquez, it became clear that he remains the rider to beat this season. His ability to manage tire wear while maintaining blistering pace was unmatched, solidifying his status as one of MotoGP’s all-time greats.
With this victory, Marc reclaimed his championship lead with 98 points edging out Alex Marquez by two points and further distancing himself from Francesco Bagnaia in third place with 77 points.
