Marc Marquez delivered a stunning performance during the 2025 Americas GP qualifying to secure MotoGP COTA pole, his third consecutive pole position of the season.
The Spanish rider, representing the Ducati Lenovo Team, continues to dominate the MotoGP season showcasing his unparalleled skill and determination.
Despite facing challenges earlier in the weekend, including a crash during Friday’s wet practice session, Marc Marquez rebounded spectacularly on a sunny Saturday to claim the MotoGP COTA pole with a time of 2:01.088.
This achievement not only solidifies his position as the championship leader but also marks his eighth career pole at the Circuit of the Americas, a track where he has historically excelled.
The qualifying session for the 2025 Americas MotoGP was a thrilling display of talent and resilience from all riders. Marquez initially claimed the top spot in Q2 but faced stiff competition from his younger brother Alex Marquez who briefly took over pole position with just over a minute remaining.
However, Marc responded decisively in the final moments of the session, reclaiming his lead with an impressive lap that left no room for doubt about his dominance.
Reflecting on his journey to the coveted MotoGP COTA pole, Marquez admitted to some challenges with tire management but expressed confidence in his ability to adapt and maintain his winning streak.
Joining Marc Marquez on the front row was Fabio Di Giannantonio of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. The Italian rider showcased remarkable pace on his Ducati GP25 clocking a time just 0.101 seconds behind Marquez.
Di Giannantonio’s path to securing second place was not without drama; his fastest lap was initially disqualified due to yellow flags caused by Joan Mir’s fall. However, after a review by race stewards his lap time was reinstated much to his relief and delight.

Completing the front row was BK8 Gresini’s Alex Marquez. Riding a Ducati GP24, Alex demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the session, ultimately securing third place with a time of 2:01.448.
Meanwhile, Red Bull KTM Factory’s Pedro Acosta emerged as the top KTM rider with a solid fourth-place finish. Acosta’s consistent performance throughout the weekend positions him as a strong contender for the main race.
Acosta will be joined on the second row by Franco Morbidelli of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team and Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo Team.
Morbidelli’s fifth-place finish highlights his adaptability and skill on the Ducati GP24, while Bagnaia expressed some disappointment with his sixth-place result but remains optimistic about improving during the race.
