Kyle Larson Bristol Xfinity Series race win SciAps 300 NASCAR

Kyle Larson bagged the SciAps 300 NASCAR Bristol Xfinity Series race win after dominating the field with an electrifying display of racing prowess to mark his second series victory at the short track.

From the outset, the No. 17 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports driver set the tone by securing the pole position and translating that advantage into an overwhelming control of the race.

Kyle Larson’s NASCAR Bristol Xfinity Series race win came after leading an astonishing 277 out of 300 laps on the notoriously challenging high-banked short track in Bristol, Tennessee, ultimately crossing the finish line with a margin of victory of 2.054 seconds over his closest rival.

Once the green flag dropped, Larson wasted no time asserting control over the field of 38 drivers, a feat that highlighted both his exceptional car handling and tire management as well as the superior setup of his Hendrick Motorsports HendrickCars.com Chevrolet.

The SciAps 300 Xfinity Series race featured eight lead changes among five different drivers but none could sustain the pace or consistency that Larson exhibited.

Other notable leaders during the race included Sam Mayer who led for 12 laps, Justin Allgaier with nine laps at the front, Sammy Smith for two laps and Ryan Sieg for a single lap, but each was eventually overtaken by Larson’s relentless charge.

However, the race was not without its drama. On Lap 76, a significant incident involving Dash 4 Cash contenders Dean Thompson and Sheldon Creed altered the race dynamics after Thompson collided with Creed’s rear, forcing the No. 00 Haas Factory Team Ford to spin out.

Shortly after, Brennan Poole of Alpha Prime Racing crashed head-on into Creed resulting in heavy damage for both vehicles, forcing them to finish near the back of the field in 36th and 37th places respectively.

Throughout the 300-lap NASCAR Xfinity Series event, five caution flags slowed the pace for a total of 44 laps, typical for the tight and aggressive racing style Bristol Motor Speedway is known for.

The average speed of the race was approximately 85.6 mph, reflecting the challenges posed by the short track’s steep banking and tight turns. Despite these challenges, Kyle Larson’s performance was nearly flawless as he expertly navigated restarts and maintained his lead through the race’s critical stages.

The race also featured competitive stage racing, with Sam Mayer winning the opening stage to secure his first playoff point with Haas Factory Team. Larson dominated the second and final stages, further underlining his control over the event.

Larson’s Bristol Xfinity Series race win marked his 16th career victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and his second at this particular track. It was also his first win and second top-10 finish of the 2025 season, underscoring his continued excellence in NASCAR’s competitive landscape.

The win was especially meaningful for the 32-year old who dedicated the victory to his late friend and PR representative Jon Edwards, adding an emotional layer to his triumphant day at the “Last Great Coliseum”.

“It’s awesome,” said Larson. “I wish I could have won last night—just came up a little bit short. It’s cool to get a win this weekend for Jon and everybody’s who’s been a part of his life.”

“We’ve got one more tomorrow (in Sunday’s Food City 500 NASCAR Cup race). There’d be nothing better than to cap it off with a Cup win for Jon and all of Hendrick Motorsports.”

Allgaier’s third-place finish extended his streak to six consecutive top-five finishes and earned him his seventh $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus of the season, underscoring his consistency and competitiveness in the series.

Rounding out the top five were Sammy Smith in fourth place and Brandon Jones in fifth. Both drivers delivered solid performances with Smith also briefly leading laps during the race and Jones showcasing competitiveness in his Toyota.

The top ten was completed by Jesse Love, Ryan Sieg, Corey Heim, Christian Eckes, and Dean Thompson, all of whom contributed to a highly competitive and action-packed event.

Looking ahead, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will continue its season with the final Dash 4 Cash race scheduled for April 19 at Rockingham Speedway.
