IMSA has officially unveiled the provisional 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona entry list featuring a remarkable grid of 61 cars set to compete in the iconic endurance race.
Scheduled for January 25-26, 2025, at the renowned Daytona International Speedway, next year’s event promises to be one of the most thrilling yet, featuring a diverse array of teams and drivers across four competitive classes: GTP, LMP2, GTD Pro, and GTD.
The provisional 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona entry list reflects a huge evolution in the series as it features a record-breaking grid of 61 cars with notable changes and exciting new entries that will captivate motorsport fans around the globe.
GTP class
The Grand Touring Prototype – GTP class leads the provisional 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona entry list with a total of 12 vehicles. This represents the largest GTP field since the class was reintroduced in 2023.
Among the notable entries is Wayne Taylor Racing, which will debut its two Cadillac V-Series.Rs. This marks a significant return to form for the team, which previously campaigned Acuras.
The Cadillac lineup is further bolstered by Action Express Racing’s Cadillac Whelen entry, which aims to reclaim its spot at the top after a competitive season.
Meanwhile, Porsche continues its strong presence in the GTP class with entries from both factory and customer teams. Proton Competition will field its Porsche 963, driven by renowned racers Gianmaria Bruni and Neel Jani, alongside a yet-to-be-announced third driver.
JDC-Miller Motorsports also returns with a privately-entered Porsche, featuring Tijmen van der Helm and Bryce Aron as part of their lineup.
Competition is set to hot up as both teams prepare to challenge the defending champions, Porsche Penske Motorsport, who are looking to maintain their dominance in the GTP class after securing victory in previous editions of the race.
Besides Cadillac and Porsche, BMW M Team RLL will field two M Hybrid V8s. The team has undergone significant changes in its driver lineup, with Philipp Eng being the only returning full-time driver from last year.
He will be joined by Dries Vanthoor and Marco Wittmann in one car, while Sheldon van der Linde takes the wheel of the second vehicle alongside Kevin Magnussen, who joins BMW after his stint in Formula 1.
LMP2 class
The LMP2 class features an impressive roster of 12 entries in the provisional 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona entry list, all running on ORECA 07 chassis powered by standard Gibson V8 engines.
Among these entries is CrowdStrike Racing by APR, which returns after a hiatus due to technical issues last season. The team will be led by CEO George Kurtz and will feature INDYCAR regular Colton Herta among its drivers.
Other notable participants include Era Motorsport, which secured the LMP2 class win last year, and PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. This category consistently delivers close racing and is known for its unpredictability, making it one of the highlights of the Rolex 24.

GTD Pro class
The GTD Pro class boasts a robust lineup of 15 entries in the provisional 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona entry list, including several familiar names from previous seasons. Notably absent are defending class champions Risi Competizione; however, several other teams are eager to claim victory this year.
Pfaff Motorsports has made headlines by switching from McLaren to Lamborghini for their entry in this category. Their lineup features Lamborghini factory drivers Mirko Bortolotti and Andrea Caldarelli, alongside James Hinchcliffe.
Proton Competition has also announced its participation in GTD Pro with a new entry featuring Claudio Schiavoni and Matteo Cressoni alongside seasoned Porsche racers Richard Lietz and Thomas Preining.
Additionally, GetSpeed has confirmed that Fabian Schiller and Luca Stolz will join Anthony Bartone in their Mercedes-AMG GT3 entry.
GTD class
The GTD class rounds out the provisional 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona entry list with an impressive 22 cars competing for top honors.
The GTD class is particularly competitive featuring notable teams such as Winward Racing who aim for back-to-back victories with their returning trio from last year’s successful campaign. Russell Ward, Philip Ellis, and Indy Dontje are set to pilot the #57 Mercedes-AMG GT3 once again.
Among other noteworthy entries in GTD class is Gradient Racing’s new Ford Mustang GT3, which replaces their previous Acura NSX GT3 Evo22. The team has confirmed Joey Hand as one of its drivers but has yet to finalize its complete roster.
AF Corse will enter three Ferrari 296 GT3s under different banners, highlighting their commitment to this prestigious event.
As preparations ramp up for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, teams will gather at Daytona International Speedway for the ROAR Before the 24 test sessions scheduled from January 17-19. This crucial event allows teams to fine-tune their setups and finalize driver lineups ahead of the race weekend.
The provisional 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona entry list leaves approximately 47 spots in uncertainity as several teams are still finalizing their rosters——but there is ample time for more surprises in the lead-up to race day.
