On January 7, 2022, Lewis Hamilton turned 37, and tributes flooded in from all over the world, including from a world-famous football star and a tennis legend.
For almost a month, the seven-time Formula One world champion has been absent from the media. This comes after a controversial season finale to the 2021 season, which saw his opponent, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, grab the title actually on the brink of the chequered flag in Abu Dhabi.
Hamilton had been on track to win a record-breaking eighth Formula One championship until the stewards ruined his chances with one terrible decision.
Despite Hamilton’s hesitance to show his face in public since then, a slew of celebs took to Instagram on Friday to express their love for the ‘birthday boy.’
Current PSG forward Neymar Jr., tennis legend Billie Jean King, American model Karlie Elizabeth Kloss, DJ Spinz, and Russian actress Irina Shayk are some of the public figures that came out to give tributes to the 37-year old.
The birthday tributes were posted over social media, with Neymar Jr.’s post standing out among others.
“Happy birthday bro. Love u,” he wrote.
The Brazilian celebrity also shared a picture collage of himself and Hamilton on his Instagram story, along with a birthday wish.
Tennis legend Billie Jean King also wished the Mercedes driver a happy 37th birthday. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest sports figures of all time.
“Wishing a very happy birthday to Lewis Hamilton 7x F1 World Champion —Most wins in F1 history —Most points in F1 history —Most podium finishes. He is also a terrific champion for equality!” she tweeted.
American Model Elizabeth Kloss wrote, “Happy birthday to the greatest ever, Lewis Hamilton. You an inspiration to us all. Thank you for leading by example.”
Lewis Hamilton’s brother, Nicolas Hamilton was also not left behind as he wrote, “HB MY BRO.” Popolar American record producer DJ Spinz, too, kept the birthday wish short as he wrote, “Happy Birthday my brother.”
