The Gresini Racing Ducati team officially unveiled its 2025 MotoGP livery during a captivating event held at the historic Imola circuit on Saturday.
The unveiling marks an exciting chapter for the Faenza-based outfit as it embarks on its fourth season as an independent entity, having previously partnered with Aprilia until the end of 2021.
The event was not only a showcase of Gresini Racing Ducati’s new aesthetic but also a celebration of its legacy and future aspirations. Their 2025 MotoGP livery features a bold redesign that incorporates a lighter color palette, primarily pastel blue, complemented by striking chrome accents.
The shift from last year’s dominant red is intended to give the bike a fresh and modern appearance, aligning with Gresini’s ambition to compete at the forefront of MotoGP.
Gresini Racing will continue to utilize Ducati machinery in the upcoming season, fielding a rider lineup that includes Alex Marquez and rookie Fermin Aldeguer.
Alex Marquez who is entering his third year with Gresini has experienced a mixed bag of results in previous seasons. After achieving notable success in his first year, he struggled in 2024 finishing eighth in the championship standings with only one podium finish.
Despite these challenges, the Spanish rider remains optimistic about his performance on the new GP24 bike, which was successfully campaigned by Jorge Martin in the previous season.
“I’m starting the third consecutive year with the team, and I must admit this winter was a very long one,“ Márquez said. “The year finished on a high and it’s almost time to return to action.
“The new colours are incredible, and I hope everyone likes them. We’d love these colours to come with great results and from my side, I did everything I could this off season to be as physically and mentally prepared as possible for 2025.”
Meanwhile, Fermin Aldeguer joins Gresini after an impressive stint in Moto2, where he won five races and finished third in the championship during his second year. His transition to MotoGP is highly anticipated, especially as he steps into Marc Márquez’s former position within the team.
Aldeguer made his debut on the GP24 during post-season testing in Barcelona where he topped the rookie timesheets, showcasing his potential as he prepares for his debut season in the premier class.
“It is a first for me on several levels, and my first team presentation as a MotoGP rider,“ Aldeguer said. “The new livery of the bike is fantastic and very aggressive, and I think it reflects well the spirit of this team, who for many years have proven to be a great institution.
“The desire to take to the track is high, but this unveiling is already a big step forward towards this 2025 season.”
The launch event at Imola was infused with nostalgia as it paid tribute to Gresini Racing’s late founder, Fausto Gresini. Attendees were treated to a historical exhibition that highlighted the team’s achievements over the years.
The atmosphere was electric as Marquez and Aldeguer completed ceremonial laps around the circuit, symbolizing a connection between past triumphs and future ambitions.
Gresini Racing Ducati Team owner Nadia Padovani highlighted the importance of the new look, stating that it reflects both the team’s spirit and its commitment to excellence on the track.
“We’re leaving behind a great 2024, and we embrace with great motivation a 2025 in which the expectations remain high,“ Padovani said. “We have a team with plenty of experience, two very talent riders, and we’re eager to continue to surprise as we’ve done from 2022 until now.
“Fermin has just arrived, but he already found a place in our hearts, while I believe Alex can and must battle for the top five in each race weekend. We’re extremely happy with this new project and the bike has a special touch with a bit of chrome touch everywhere. We’re ready!”
In addition to its striking 2025 MotoGP livery and rider lineup, Gresini Racing Ducati aims to improve upon its performance from last season. The team finished third in the championship standings in 2024, and both riders are eager to contribute to further successes.
Gresini marks the third team to unveil its new contender after Aprilia and Trackhouse showcased their new looks earlier in the week and attention now turns to other teams set to unveil their designs in the coming days.
The factory Ducati team is expected to showcase its 2025 MotoGP livery on January 20, followed by other contenders like VR46 and KTM later in January.
As teams unveil their liveries ahead of the season opener in Buriram, Thailand on March 2, 2025, fans are eager to see how each team’s new designs will translate into performance on track.
