The second annual Formula E Women’s Test is scheduled to take place on October 30, 2025, at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.

The announcement made on the eve of International Women’s Day underscores the series’ dedication to creating opportunities for female drivers to showcase their talent and gain valuable experience in one of the most competitive and technologically advanced racing championships in the world.

The Formula E Women’s Test initiative which debuted last year at the Circuito Jarama, Madrid has already proven to be a significant step forward for gender representation in motorsport.

This year’s event is expected to build on the success of its predecessor, featuring an expanded roster of two sessions ensuring a full day of track action compared to the single afternoon session of the previous year.

Each Formula E team will be required to field at least one female driver, with the option to include two, allowing up to 22 drivers to participate.

This initiative is part of Formula E’s broader strategy to dismantle barriers for women in motorsport, providing them with equal opportunities to showcase their skills using the same cutting-edge technology as their male counterparts.

The Formula E Women’s Test will utilize the current GEN3 Evo race cars, which boast impressive performance capabilities, including accelerating from 0-60 mph in just 1.82 seconds.

The announcement of the second test aligns with International Women’s Day celebrations and supports the theme “Accelerate Action.” This theme reflects Formula E’s commitment to accelerating progress in gender equality within motorsport.

Formula E Co-Founder and Chief Championship Officer Alberto Longo highlighted the importance of the second Formula E Women’s Test in building on last year’s success and creating more opportunities for women in the sport.

“Building on the success of last year’s pioneering all-women’s test, we’re excited to make the event even bigger and more impactful by extending it to a full day of testing involving two lengthy test sessions,“ Longo said.

“Our goal is to continue breaking down the barriers to entry for women in motorsport and provide them with an equal opportunity to showcase their skills, driving the same cutting-edge technology as the rest of our championship drivers.

“Formula E’s ongoing commitment to attracting the best drivers in the world within motorsport is reflected not only in this expanded test but also in its broader initiatives to support women at every level of the sport.”

The Formula E Women’s Test is a key component of Formula E’s long-term strategy to promote diversity and equality. By increasing the visibility of women in motorsport and providing equal access to the latest technology and resources, the all-electric series aims to create a more inclusive future for the sport.

This initiative complements other programs, such as the FIA Girls on Track, which offers educational workshops and insights into the motorsport industry for young women.
