The updated Ferrari 499P livery has been officially revealed ahead of 2025 FIA WEC.
The unveiling marks the Italian automaker’s third season in the Hypercar class managed in collaboration with AF Corse and anticipates their participation in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Ferrari 499P livery reveal has ignited excitement among WEC fans showcasing a blend of the Scuderia’s rich racing heritage with modern design elements.
The driver lineups remain unchanged for 2025 FIA WEC – featuring Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen in car #50, and Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi in car #51.
With the driver teams settled the focus shifts to the anticipated livery which was launched following the unveiling of the team’s new racing suits.
The new Ferrari 499P livery introduces a darker shade of red reminiscent of classic Ferrari models specifically the shade used on the 488 GTE in 2019.
This colour choice not only enhances the car’s visual appeal but also reflects a “reminder of the past” as described by Ferrari sportscar racing boss Antonello Coletta, and pays homage to Luigi Chinetti and Lord Selsdon’s (Peter Mitchell-Thomson) 1949 Le Mans victory with the 166MM5.
The new Ferrari 499P livery also features a dominant glossy red finish optimised for high car visibility particularly in nighttime racing. This is complemented by matte accents that align with Scuderia Ferrari HP’s Formula 1 single-seater design.
Iconic Giallo Modena stripes which are a signature element of Ferrari’s racing liveries are retained but repositioned. The stripes are placed on the upper side panels to accommodate new illuminated panels in compliance with WEC regulations to display the car’s race position and other information.
The cockpit retains the signature yellow diagonal stripe – a hallmark of the 499P since 2023 – but unlike last season, this graphic now extends across the side pods instead of the lower section of the side.
This design choice accentuates the side pods longitudinally, further enhancing the car’s dynamic presence. The effect is particularly striking when viewing the 499P from above – such as from the grandstands – offering fans an original and innovative visual experience.

The yellow is reminiscent of the 312PB Group 6 racer of the early 1970s – Ferrari’s final factory prototype racer before the 50-year break that concluded in 2023 with the debut of the 499P LMH.
Mario Andretti and Jacky Ickx drove a 312PB in the Modena yellow to victory in the 1972 Sebring 12 Hours. Ickx and Brian Redman also won the 1973 Monza and Nurburgring World Championship for Makes races in the same colors.
Ferrari’s return to the top class of endurance racing in 2023 followed up with a triumphant one-two finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans which underscored the team’s commitment to excellence.
This set the stage for continued success in 2024 where the team once again secured victory at Le Mans, further solidifying its position as a dominant force in endurance racing.
For the 2025 FIA WEC season, Ferrari aims to build on these achievements by contesting for the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ World Championship titles while defending its Le Mans crown.
While the new Ferrari 499P livery makes a debut, the technical configuration introduced in the latter half of the previous season remains, with updates such as a redesigned brake cooling duct system and aerodynamic enhancements, including flicks beneath the front headlights.
These refinements are designed to optimise the car’s performance and reliability, ensuring it remains competitive throughout the challenging WEC season.
The 2025 FIA WEC season commences in Qatar on February 28, where the Ferrari 499P will make its race debut with the updated livery and technical enhancements.
