Two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso recently experienced a long-awaited moment as he took delivery of his very own Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar in Monaco.
The streets of Monte Carlo provided the perfect backdrop for this thrilling event as Alonso drove the exclusive machine out of the iconic Monte Carlo Bay Hotel, showcasing a custom design that he personally helped craft in collaboration with Aston Martin’s bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin.
Drawing inspiration from his current Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team AMR24 race car, Fernando Alonso’s Valkyrie is painted in a stunning Satin AMR Green with bespoke contrasting AMR Satin Lime Graphics that complement the hypercar’s aerodynamic contours.
The cavernous Venturi Tunnel has been customised even further with the addition of Speed Red and Light and Dark Blue painted graphics, adding depth and visual interest to the design.
The exterior of Alonso’s Valkyrie is distinguished by exposed Carbon Fibre on the roof, engine cover, and lower aero components, while a titanium Aston Martin Wings badge sits proudly on the nose.
A bespoke ‘CAUTION HOT’ graphic has also been applied to the rear, adding a unique touch to the design and serving as a subtle warning to onlookers.
Inside the driver-focused cabin, the continuation of exposed carbon fibre is expansive, and swathes of Pure Black Alcantra are paired with a contrasting AMR Lime stitch. Alonso’s infamous logo can also be seen embroidered into the headrests in the same AMR Lime thread, a personal touch that adds to the car’s exclusivity.
One of the most intricate details, and a personal touch for Alonso, is the red anodized aluminum accelerator pedal etched with the number ’14’, the two-time F1 world champion’s long-standing race number.
This subtle detail pays homage to Alonso’s illustrious racing career and serves as a constant reminder of his passion for the sport.
“It’s hard to put into words how much I have been looking forward to this day,” commented Alonso while taking delivery of his Valkyrie. “To sit at the wheel of my own Valkyrie, one that I have worked on designing so closely with the team at Q by Aston Martin is certainly a day to remember.”
The Aston Martin Valkyrie, originally developed by the British manufacturer in partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies with significant input from legendary F1 designer Adrian Newey – who is set to join Aston Martin F1 team – is a marvel of engineering.
Powered by a hybrid 6.5-litre V12 powertrain that delivers a maximum output of 1,155PS, the car can accelerate from 0-60mph in under 2.5 seconds. The combination of F1-inspired aerodynamics and performance creates one of the most exhilarating driving experiences available on the road.
“Valkyrie truly is an F1 car for the road, with so much of the knowledge and technology taken from all the experience Aston Martin has on track and I can’t wait to hit the road,” added Alonso.
Like all the automaker’s sports cars, the Aston Martin Valkyrie is hand-built at the company’s UK headquarters in Gaydon. Each of the 150 limited production vehicles is meticulously crafted by a team of highly skilled technicians, with over 2000 man-hours dedicated to creating each car.
A dedicated project delivery team oversees every aspect of the build, ensuring that each Valkyrie is delivered to its owner in perfect condition.
For Alonso, the delivery of his custom Valkyrie marks a new chapter in his relationship with the iconic British brand, blending his passion for F1 with the thrill of driving a car that embodies the pinnacle of automotive technology and design.
With its stunning looks, bespoke touches, and unparalleled performance, Alonso’s Valkyrie is sure to turn heads wherever it goes and serve as a testament to his racing pedigree.
