EA Sports has revealed the release date of F1 24 along with the release of a teaser trailer that offers players a sneak peek of the upcoming racing game.
EA Sports has officially revealed the release date for the official Formula 1 game for the upcoming season, F1 24, which is scheduled to be released earlier than anticipated as the 2024 Formula 1 season is slated to get underway this weekend in Bahrain.
Despite the fact that a few details regarding the game have been confirmed, publishers EA Sports state that the career mode is “overhauled.”
The official EA Sports F1 24 webpage reports that Dynamic Handling will be included in the next racing game. EA describes this latest feature as giving you greater influence over how your driving style affects your car’s performance and race strategy.
There’s also a nod to the beloved Driver Career mode, which has largely remained the same in the previous game iterations. However, according to EA, F1 24 will have a completely new Driver Career mode with gameplay inspired by the sport.
Pre-order bonuses for the upcoming game also hint at the return of the Podium Pass unlockables program, two more new “icons” drivers for career mode, and the F1 World mode that featured in the 2023 game.
The 2024 liveries for the McLaren, Alpine, Williams, and Haas cars will be available to players who pre-order the game before its release in time trial mode in the F1 23 game.
According to EA, information regarding the new features and game modes will be released in April.
Pre-ordering the Champions Edition of F1 24, which is playable three days ahead of its official release, entitles owners of the previous three iterations of the official Formula 1 game to a 15% discount.
“For the first time, our F1 23 players can now connect immediately with the 2024 season with some of their favourite teams ahead of this weekend’s first lights out,” said Codemasters’ senior creative director Lee Mather.
“Our full reveal is coming soon and we’re bringing players an overhauled career mode, a new EA Sports Dynamic Handling System and so much more.”
The standard platforms—PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (for current generation consoles), PS4 and Xbox One (for previous generation consoles)—will all be able to run F1 24.
Codemasters has held the exclusive rights to develop the official Formula 1 video game series since 2008 and the developers have been releasing a game for PC and current-generation consoles for every season since 2010.
The previous five games in the series have received nominations for The Game Awards’ Best Sports or Racing Game category.
F1 24 will be the fourth yearly Formula 1 racing game that EA Sports releases after the acquisition of Codemasters in 2021 (via EA) for $1.2 billion.
