De Vries set for a potential AlphaTauri seat as talks are underway

Nyck de Vries has been seen with Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko amid discussions that he might join the F1 grid in 2023.

The Dutchman has established himself as a contender for a 2023 AlphaTauri seat following his successful debut with Williams at the Italian Grand Prix.

This also comes after multiple teams, including Alpine and Williams, expressed interest in the Formula E and F2 champion and reports reveal that De Vries was seen meeting Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko at his office in Graz this week.

AlphaTauri has considered de Vries as a potential replacement for Yuki Tsunoda after negotiations with American IndyCar driver Colton Herta failed to work out because he lacked the necessary points to obtain an FIA superlicence.

Pierre Gasly would therefore be free to join Alpine while the team searches for a successor for Fernando Alonso, who is leaving the team at the end of the current season.
