31-time MotoGP race winner Dani Pedrosa, has signed up for his debut season of four-wheel racing with FFF Racing Team in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.
Dani Pedrosa has officially switched from two to four wheel racing. FFF Racing Team revealed on Tuesday that the long-time MotoGP rider would make his auto racing debut in 2022, when he competes in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe for the team.
The Spaniard will share the No. 29 Orange1-backed Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 with Antonin Borga, who won three successive world titles in the 125 and 250 cc classes before a successful MotoGP career with Honda.
After nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi joined with Audi squad Team WRT for the 10-round Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, Pedrosa is the second motorcycle racing star to enter a full season of GT racing this year.
The 36-year old, withdrew from full-time MotoGP riding following the 2018 season, but he raced for KTM as a wildcard at the Styrian Grand Prix in Austria last year.
Pedrosa and Borga will compete in the Super Trofeo class, which has yet to be established.
The GTWC Europe rounds at Imola, Paul Ricard, Misano, Spa-Francorchamps, and Barcelona in 2022 will be supported by Lamborghini’s European single-make series. The World Final, held in Portimao, brings the six-round season to a close.
“I’m very happy to start this new adventure with Lamborghini and the FFF Racing Team,” said Pedrosa. “It’s my first experience on four wheels and, although I still have a lot to learn, I feel very excited. I can’t wait to learn all the tricks of the trade and start at my best. The hope is obviously to have fun!”
Borga, Pedrosa’s co-driver and an LMP2 race winner with Cool Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, said: “I am very excited for this new experience.”
“I have raced in LMP2 endurance in the past and this will be my first time driving a Super Trofeo.”
“I’m very happy to have the opportunity to be in the FFF Racing Team with Dani… Obviously I hope that everything goes well and that we have a great time racing together.”
With the freshly modified EVO2 Huracan, FFF Racing Team currently has three Super Trofeo Europe entries.
The Chinese team, which is based in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, also competes in the LB Cup and Pro-Am categories. Last week, it ran a test at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with new recruits Pedrosa and Borga.

Tony Cairoli, Didier de Radigues, Chad Reed, and Andrea Dovizioso are among the other renowned motorcycle racers who have raced in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
