The new Alpine Hypercar is set to be unveiled alongside two LMP2 prototypes to commemorate the 100th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Alpine Hypercar will be unveiled on June 9 at 11:30 a.m., two days before the Le Mans 24-hour race on June 10 and 11.
In honor of the iconic endurance race that helped form its history, the A-arrow brand will also celebrate the centenary through the release of a special limited series.
Additionally, Alpine will have its Alpenglow concept car on exhibit in the Hydrogen Village along with the recently debuted showcar for its upcoming A290_ electric urban sportscar.
The blue-white-and-red brand will provide spectators with a unique and varied program in honor of the 100th 24 Hours of Le Mans, commemorating the endurance sport, in addition to the action on the track.
Alpine has a history in the realm of endurance racing, having participated in the Hypercar division of the World Endurance Championship the previous year. However, with Alpine Elf Team skipping the Hypercar Championship in 2023, their focus has shifted to the LMP2 division.
The announcement comes at an exciting moment for the Alpine F1 team, which has successfully recovered from Laurent Rossi’s CEO criticism.
Esteban Ocon achieved the team’s first podium finish of the year at the Monaco Grand Prix, and Pierre Gasly also scored significant team points after a strong effort.
The team has stated its goals for 2023, and recent remarks from Alpine’s sporting director Alan Permane imply that the squad will set higher goals for the upcoming race competitions.
As the sole French team in the Formula One championship, Permane declared that he fully expects to be ahead of Mercedes and Ferrari at the next race.
