The updated Alpine A424 Hypercar livery was officially unveiled ahead of the 2025 FIA WEC.
The striking new design which was revealed on Friday January 30, 2025 will be featured on the team’s LMDh cars as they embark on their second season in the Hypercar category following a promising debut campaign in 2024.
The updated Alpine A424 Hypercar livery integrates the French tricolour into Alpine’s signature blue, symbolizing both national pride and the team’s enduring commitment to excellence in motorsport.
The French tricolour design is prominently displayed on the rear decking. This addition complements the sleek bodywork of the car, which is built on a chassis developed in collaboration with Oreca.
The design is not only aesthetically striking but also reflects the advanced engineering and aerodynamic efficiency that define Alpine’s approach to endurance racing.
The Alpine A424 Hypercar represents a fusion of cutting-edge technology and the team’s storied legacy, which includes a historic victory at the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Alpine’s return to the top tier of endurance racing began in 2024 with the introduction of the A424 and despite facing challenges in their debut season, including mechanical failures at Le Mans, the team achieved notable milestones.
These included a fourth-place finish in the manufacturers’ championship standings and a podium result at Fuji Speedway. These accomplishments have set a strong foundation for Alpine as it aims to become an even greater force in 2025.
The upcoming 2025 FIA WEC season will see Alpine competing against a highly competitive field of manufacturers in what promises to be one of the most exciting years for WEC fans.
The unveiling of the new Alpine A424 Hypercar livery comes as part of broader preparations for the 2025 FIA WEC season. The team has already confirmed its six-driver lineup, which includes new recruit Frédéric Makowiecki and returning talent Mick Schumacher.

While all drivers have been announced, their specific assignments to Alpine’s #35 and #36 cars will be revealed on February 5. This strategic announcement will further shape the team’s campaign as it seeks to optimize its driver pairings for different circuits and race conditions.
The A424 Hypercar itself is a testament to Alpine’s engineering prowess. Powered by a unique 3.4-litre V6 single-turbo engine developed with Mecachrome, the car delivers up to 675 horsepower within FIA Balance of Performance (BoP) regulations.
Its hybrid system which is supplied by Bosch adds an additional 30-50 kW of power ensuring competitive performance across various race formats.
The car also features a lightweight carbon-fiber body shell and advanced suspension systems designed for maximum efficiency and durability during endurance events.
Alpine has invested heavily in testing and development to prepare for its sophomore Hypercar season. Over seven months of testing at circuits such as Paul Ricard, Motorland Aragón, Jerez, Portimão, and Barcelona have allowed engineers to fine-tune the car’s performance under diverse conditions.
Notably, a grueling 30-hour endurance test at Aragón simulated race scenarios to ensure reliability during events like the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The team is determined to improve upon its performance at Le Mans after last year’s setbacks, where both cars retired due to mechanical issues before completing six hours of racing.
This year’s edition of Le Mans, scheduled for June 11-15, will be a critical event for Alpine as it seeks redemption and aims for a stronger showing on home soil.
Beyond Le Mans, Alpine is targeting consistent podium finishes throughout the season as it strives to challenge more established competitors in the Hypercar class. With eight manufacturers and a total of 18 entries in the Hypercar category this year, competition is expected to be fierce.
The 2025 FIA WEC season begins with pre-season testing during “The Prologue” at Qatar on February 21-22, followed by the opening race at Qatar’s Lusail International Circuit on February 28.
