AlphaTauri reveals the ‘real’ AT03 as it hits the track at Misano

AlphaTauri have revealed their actual 2022 Formula 1 car, after sharing images of the AT03 being driven around the Misano circuit.

The Italian squad went to the Misano track last week for a day of filming with the new car. However,t he run was held behind closed doors, and the Faenza-based outfit did not disclose any photos or videos of the AT03.

AlphaTauri has now released photos and video from the Tuesday event, with race drivers Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda each getting an opportunity to drive the new car as part of the 100 kilometres of track mileage allowed as per the new F1 rules and regulations.

AlphaTauri had only released renders of their new car after its debut, and they looked nothing like the car that was on the circuit in Misano. The Faenza squad, just like their sister team Red Bull has kept their all-new contenders a closely guarded secret, with the senior team conducting a private test at Silverstone and releasing no images.

The AT03 will make its first public appearance at the Barcelona test on Wednesday.

The team will retain Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda as the drivers for the 2022 season, as they both guided the team to a strong sixth place in the 2021 constructors’ championship.

While Tsunoda struggled in his debut year, Gasly was constantly impressive, winning a podium in Baku in 2021. H owever,Tsunoda exhibited flashes of brilliance, earning points in Bahrain on his debut and finished fourth in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
