F1 pundit Craig Slatter tries to take a dip in Miami Circuit's fake marina

The Miami Grand Prix will bring Formula 1 back to the United States this weekend marking the first time an F1 race has been held in Miami.

This comes as the F1 community has been buzzing over the last few weeks, with the season so far delivering numerous twists and turns as F1 arrives in Miami for this weekend’s action.

The Hard Rock Stadium, which is home to the Miami Dolphins, is surrounded by a 5.4-kilometer, 19-turn track. The track designers chose to build an artificial marina next to the course to get fans excited for the action.

Its primary intention is to provide genuine excitement to the event and provide spectators with a taste of life in the Sunshine State.

Craig Slater, a Sky Sports reporter, couldn’t seem to get enough of the man-made marina. Slater was so enthralled by the track’s features that he decided to jump in.

F1 drivers, like reporters, are looking forward to competing in the forthcoming Grand Prix.

“I believe so, absolutely,” seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton remarked on Good Morning America when asked if F1 has entered the US market.

“I’ve been coming out here for a long, long time but I never quite understood why people weren’t into Formula One.”

“The first race I had out here was Indianapolis in 2007 but now with the Netflix series Drive to Survive growing, we have two Grands Prix in the States and we have another one in Vegas next year. It’s going to be huge.”

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc presently leads the Formula One standings by 27 points over second-placed Max Verstappen. Fans can expect a lot of action at the Miami Grand Prix now that Formula One is returning to the United States.
