Mercedes loses two sponsors ahead of 2022 season

Mercedes F1 team is set to lose two long-time sponsors ahead of 2022 Formula 1 season.

Before the start of the 2022 season, Mercedes could suffer the loss of not just one, but two sponsors. The team has already confirmed that Epson will not sponsor them next season as Bose are reportedly in negotiations with the team.

The Japanese printing brand Epson has already confirmed it will retire its name from the car after the 2021 season, leaving Mercedes in search of a replacement. On the other hand, Bose has not been announced officially as a sponsor for next year, and their name has been removed from the Silver Arrows’ website’s list of sponsors.

There is a possibility that Bose will also be leaving, but reports indicate that discussions about an extension of the contract are still ongoing between the two sides.

The loss of Epson as a sponsor is thought to be a significant financial setback for Mercedes, and the team is confident that they will find a sponsor to replace it.

Hamilton missed out on the Drivers’ Championship to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in controversial circumstances on the final lap of the season finale, but ganging up with Valtteri Bottas, they led Mercedes to their record-eighth consecutive Constructors’ Championship title. George Russell will replace Bottas ahead of 2022, as Bottas joined Alfa Romeo.

Nevertheless, Mercedes are still in a strong financial position going into 2022 thanks to the Constructors’ Championship which brings in prize money.
