Dutch WorldSBK FP1 Alvaro Bautista Assen Circuit Toprak Razgatlioglu Nicolo Bulega

Alvaro Bautista topped the 2025 Dutch WorldSBK FP1 session at the iconic TT Circuit Assen ahead of Toprak Razgatlioglu and Nicolo Bulega.

The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati rider showcased his dominance by topping the timesheets in opening practice with a blistering lap of 1:34.365. This performance marked a strong start to the weekend for the Spaniard who is aiming to secure his first win this season.

Alvaro Bautista’s pace throughout most of the 2025 Dutch WorldSBK FP1 was unmatched and he ended the session 0.102 seconds ahead of his closest competitors.

The opening practice session was characterized by close competition among riders with twelve racers finishing within one second of Bautista’s benchmark lap time—a testament to the high level of talent and preparation across teams this season.

Reigning WorldSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu off his remarkable portimao treble demonstrated his intent to challenge for another triple win at the 4.54-kilometer Assen circuit. Riding the ROKiT BMW Motorrad Team’s M1000RR, the Turkish rider clocked a time of 1:34.467 securing second place in FP1.

Bautista’s teammate Nicolo Bulega rounded out the top three with a time of 1:34.637 on his Ducati Panigale V4 R. Bulega’s performance underscored his potential as a championship favourite in the premier class.

Andrea Iannone, representing Team Pata GoEleven on another Ducati machine, impressed with a fourth-place finish in FP1. Known for his experience and affinity for the TT Circuit Assen, the Italian rider delivered a solid start to his weekend with a lap time of 1:34.760.

Dominique Aegerter was Yamaha’s standout performer in Dutch WorldSBK FP1, finishing fifth aboard his GYTR GRT Yamaha R1 with a time of 1:34.865. The Swiss rider showcased Yamaha’s competitiveness at Assen and remained within striking distance of the leaders.

Michael van der Mark, racing at his home circuit delighted local fans by securing sixth place with a time of 1:34.936 on his BMW M1000RR. Van der Mark has expressed his ambition to return to podium contention at Assen and his FP1 performance suggests he is well-prepared to achieve that goal.

Yamaha continued its strong showing with Andrea Locatelli and Remy Gardner finishing seventh and eighth respectively. Locatelli clocked a time of 1:34.946 on his Pata Maxus Yamaha R1 while Gardner followed closely behind with a lap of 1:34.988 on his GYTR GRT Yamaha R1.

Danilo Petrucci completed FP1 in ninth place aboard his Barni Spark Racing Ducati Panigale V4 R with a time of 1:35.095. Petrucci remains focused on breaking into higher positions during subsequent sessions this weekend.

Alex Lowes rounded out the top ten on his Kawasaki KB998 Rimini from Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team, posting a lap time of 1:35.220—a notable improvement following challenges at Portimao.
