Haas F1 Team is set to make a striking impression at the 2024 United States Grand Prix with the unveiling of a major upgrade alongside a special livery that pays homage to its American roots.
This unique design will debut at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, during the race weekend from October 18-20, 2024.
The new Haas F1 Team livery is not just a visual treat but also symbolizes the outfit’s ongoing commitment to improving its performance and presence in the highly competitive world of Formula 1.
The special livery features a bold combination of red, white, and blue—colors that resonate deeply with the national identity of the United States. Complementing the traditional black and white color scheme of VF-24s, the new design incorporates blue highlights along with white and black stars, reminiscent of the American flag.
This artistic choice serves as a tribute to the team’s heritage and its base in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The incorporation of an eagle emblem further emphasizes this patriotic theme, making it a standout feature on the car’s sidepods.
Haas’s decision to launch this special livery aligns perfectly with their aim to engage fans and celebrate their identity as the only American F1 team on the grid.
The excitement surrounding this event is palpable, especially considering that this marks their second home race of the season, following the Miami GP earlier in May. The Haas F1 Team will also participate in a third home race later in Las Vegas in November, making 2024 a significant year in terms of showcasing its American roots.
In addition to the eye-catching livery, Haas is gearing up for an intense battle in the midfield during the United States Grand Prix. The team has announced that they will bring major technical upgrades to their VF-24 car for the race.
Technical Director Andrea De Zordo has stated that these updates primarily focus on improving aerodynamic performance by enhancing the car’s floor and bodywork. Such improvements are crucial as Haas aims to secure a stronger position in the Constructors’ Championship standings.
“In Austin we’re bringing our main update for the final part of the season which will mainly involve another step of development in the floor and bodywork,” De Zordo explained.
“The target, as always, will be to improve aero load in order to make the car faster. It’s difficult to be making a big step in lap time, so we’re speaking about small numbers, but in the tight midfield fight everything is an important step, and we hope to deliver.
“This is a development and further evolution of our package, not something new although the car will look a bit different.”
Currently, Haas finds itself locked in a tight competition for sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship against teams like Visa Cash App RB and Williams. With only three points separating them from VCARB—who currently holds 34 points—Haas is determined to maximize their performance at COTA.
“We really need to put everything in we can to achieve [P6] because it would be amazing for everyone at this team who’s put so much work into making this season a success,” added De Zordo.
Haas F1 Team drivers, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, are equally enthusiastic about racing on home soil. Both drivers will don specially designed race suits that feature the new eagle emblem and branding associated with their new technical partnership with Toyota Gazoo Racing.
This collaboration marks an exciting chapter for the American F1 team as they continue to develop their capabilities on and off the track.
Hulkenberg expressed his excitement about racing at COTA, highlighting the support from American fans as a motivating factor. He noted the United States Grand Prix is one of the standout events on the calendar for Haas due to its significance and fan engagement.
Similarly, Magnussen shared his anticipation for what he described as an excellent track that typically suits their car’s performance characteristics.
The Circuit of The Americas presents unique challenges with its elevation changes and technical corners, making it a favorite among drivers and fans alike. With its history of thrilling races and passionate crowds, COTA promises to provide an exhilarating backdrop for Haas’s special livery debut.
