The Alpine F1 Team has made headlines with the unveiling of a striking Indiana Jones livery for the upcoming United States Grand Prix set to take place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
This initiative marks a significant collaboration with their official partner, Xbox, in celebration of the highly anticipated video game “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,” which is scheduled for release in December 2024.
The livery not only showcases a vibrant sunset orange color scheme but also incorporates iconic elements from the beloved film franchise, including an ancient map and red travel routes reminiscent of Indiana Jones’ adventurous escapades.
The special edition Indiana Jones livery is a one-off design that will be featured on Alpine’s A524 car during the race weekend. The team has embraced a cinematic theme that pays homage to the character immortalized by Harrison Ford in a series of blockbuster films.
The race suits worn by drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly will also reflect this theme, featuring designs that incorporate a world map with golden notes, symbolizing the globetrotting nature of Indiana Jones’ adventures.
Alpine F1 Team Principal Oliver Oakes expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating that working with Xbox has been an incredible experience and that this activation represents the pinnacle of their partnership so far.
“Working with the Xbox team to bring alive the incredible Indiana Jones and the Great Circle livery for the United States Grand Prix has been fantastic,” said Oakes. “The new look will be right at home in the Austin setting this weekend.
“In the past year, our partnership with Xbox has reached new heights and this is our biggest activation yet. There’s even more to come and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of the game when it comes out.
The decision made by Alpine F1 Team to align with such a prominent cultural icon is not without precedent. Earlier in the 2024 season, they showcased another film-inspired livery at the Belgian Grand Prix, celebrating the release of “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
The strategy of leveraging popular media not only enhances brand visibility but also engages fans through creative and thematic designs that resonate with broader entertainment culture.
The unveiling of the Indiana Jones livery comes as part of a larger trend within Formula 1, where teams are increasingly adopting special liveries for specific races to create excitement and draw attention to their sponsors.
For instance, Haas F1 Team has also revealed a patriotic red, white, and blue livery for its home race at the United States Grand Prix, further emphasizing the competitive spirit among teams to stand out during significant events.
As the Woking-based outfit prepares for this weekend’s race, they currently find themselves ninth in the Constructors’ Championship standings. This position reflects a challenging season as they strive to regain momentum and improve their performance on track.
The introduction of a unique livery like this could serve as a morale booster for the Alpine F1 Team and its fans alike.
The United States Grand Prix weekend kicks off with Free Practice sessions on October 18, followed by Sprint Qualifying and a Sprint Race on October 19. The main event will take place on October 20 at 14:00 CT / 15:00 ET / 21:00 CEST.
