The name of the much awaited F1 movie starring Brad Pitt has been revealed along with an official teaser poster, ahead of its summer 2025 premiere in theaters.

The Formula 1 movie which is currently under production and starring Brad Pitt will be titled ‘F1’ with an official teaser set to air shortly before the start of Sunday’s British Grand Prix.

The highly anticipated film, which is slated for release in June 2025, features an impressive cast and production team, driven by the dedication of its well-known co-producer Lewis Hamilton.

The seven-time Formula 1 World Champion is not only supporting the project behind the scenes, but he has also been contributing his knowledge and passion to guarantee authenticity.

“F1,” is set to be a thrilling cinematic experience as the project is currently under production of legendary Jerry Bruckheimer (Top Gun) and direction of the creative Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick).

Several races were used for on-location filming over the last season and now that the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike has passed, production has resumed, with Hollywood star Brad Pitt and co-star Damson Idris on set at Silverstone this weekend.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Apple Original Films have now confirmed that the blockbuster film will simply be titled “F1” ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix.

An official teaser will be aired on the Formula 1 world television feed at 14:33 (BST) on Sunday 7 July, less than half an hour before the start of the race at Silverstone, round 12 of the F1 2024 season.

The plot of the film will revolve around the tale of Sonny Hayes (Pitt), a driver who returns to F1 with the fictional APXGP team to compete against the sport’s teams and drivers. Hayes’ team-mate, Joshua Pearce, will be portrayed by Damson Idris.

Pitt and Idris lead an all-star cast which also includes Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.

Adding to the film’s realism, all 10 official F1 teams and their drivers are set to make appearances, further blurring the lines between reality and the big screen.

The project is using the Formula 2 car Mercedes has modified to run in fictional APXGP colours and just like in other events, AXGP has received its own branded pitlane garages where its cast and crew are operating from.
