Williams has unveiled a unique Union Jack livery for this weekend’s Formula 1 British GP that will serve as tribute to over 1,000 team members.
Williams Racing will prominently feature the names of all 1,005 team members on its FW46 in a stunning Union Jack livery at this weekend’s British Grand Prix, as it celebrates its participation in the home race event.
The cars driven by Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant will fly the flag at Silverstone in celebration of staff members at the team’s Grove Headquarters as well as its dedicated members in New York, London, and at the races as they all passionately work towards the team’s goal of getting back to the front of the grid.
The 1,005 names are seamlessly integrated into the red, white, and blue engine cover design.
The spectacular livery represents much more than just a design; it is a sincere tribute to the outstanding teamwork and unshakeable perseverance the team has shown under struggles and challenges this season.
The Union Jack has been integrated into the design to further align the team with its national roots and resonate with the home crowd that will be present at Silverstone. This is a noble gesture of personal recognition coupled with patriotism that will undoubtedly boost teamwork and fan engagement.

Additionally, 2009 F1 World Champion Jenson Button will be reunited with his very first F1 car – the 2000 Williams FW22 – for a series of demonstration runs as part of the British team’s celebrations during its home event.
In the first free practice session on Friday, Formula 2 driver Franco Colapinto will temporarily take over the wheel from Sargeant. The Williams Racing Driver Academy driver will get his first chance to drive a new F1 car.
Williams’ fans will also be able to show their support for the team away from the track by gathering at its London Fan Zone, which is located in Piccadilly Circus, the center of the capital, from July 2 to July 7.
The event will feature appearances from Alex Albon, Logan Sargeant, Jenson Button, Team Principal James Vowles, and Williams Academy F2 Driver Zak O’Sullivan.
The team also confirmed: “Special Silverstone caps and t-shirts celebrating Williams’ heritage will be available to buy, and Friday will see the first release of a limited-edition whisky from our licensing partnership with Coachbuilt Whisky – co-founded by Jenson Button – which will commemorate the Constructors’ Championship-winning FW18 from 1996 that also delivered Damon Hill the Drivers’ title.
“Fans attending the race at Silverstone will be able to test their driving skills in our Williams Racing simulators, located next to the Silverstone UTC on the outside of the track opposite the National Circuit pits.”
