The Formula 1 Bahrain pre-season testing is set to take place this week with the full schedule spanning over just three days.
The lengthy Formula 1 winter break is over, and on Wednesday, February 21st, all teams will return to the track for the pre-season testing which will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The Formula 1 teams get the first opportunity to run their cars collectively during pre-season testing to determine who will be competitive and who won’t be in the upcoming season.
This is the only official collective running teams will undertake as they complete shakedowns otherwise known as filming days, where teams can conduct up to 200km of running with their cars.
This year’s event will span just three days and take place in Bahrain—the same venue for the season opener—a little over a week from now.
However, the testing days are half an hour shorter each day than they were the previous year. As a result, the morning session starts each day at 07:00 GMT while the afternoon session starts at 12:00 PM following a lunch break and possible driver changes from 11 AM to 12 PM. The day’s proceedings end at 4:00 PM.
