Mahindra Racing revealed a new livery for the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship on Wednesday.
Mahindra Racing has unveiled their new livery for the 2023–24 FIA Formula E season featuring metallic silver which serves as an eye-catching highlight next to the team’s distinctive red. Together with Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE), the team came up with a new style that differed from their previous glossy finishes.
The color scheme consists of matte red, silver and desert grey. The engine cover features ten twin-peak logos, each of which symbolizes a year of exceptional performance at the pinnacle of electric racing. This new design honors the team’s distinguished history in Formula E.
The ABB Formula E Season 10 marks ten years of competition for the all-electric series. Mahindra Racing is the only team and manufacturer remaining on the grid that has maintained its original identity since the championship’s establishment.
Mahindra Racing has enjoyed a great deal of success on the track over the past decade with five E-Prix wins, 24 podium finishes and ten pole positions. Off the track, the team’s success is reflected in its continued active participation in using racing to promote environmentally friendly and sustainable technology for the automotive industry’s future.
With the addition of new drivers Edoardo Mortara and Nyck de Vries, as well as new hires in the Technical and Performance departments, Season 10 ushers in an exciting new era for the team. This serves as a declaration of intent as the team sets out to return to championship contention in the upcoming years.
“It’s a new chapter for everybody at Mahindra Racing,” Mahindra Racing CEO Fred Bertrand said. “And I’m very excited to unveil our livery for Season 10, which reflects both this, and celebrates our long-standing commitment to Formula E.
“We have a very proud history in the Championship as a team, and the objective is for the actions we are taking now, in the present, to help build a brighter future on-track.
“I can’t wait to see the cars take to the track in Mexico in the new livery.”
The comeback of former AlphaTauri Formula 1 driver Nyck de Vries, who will be racing alongside Edoardo Mortara in Season 10 of the Formula E Championship, has been highly anticipated.
De Vries is optimistic about Mahindra’s future despite the Indian manufacturer’s difficult season last year, where it only managed one podium and finished 10th in the standings.
This year, the seasoned Dutchman’s goal of bringing Mahindra back to its previous glory in 2024 has been one of the most talked-about driver transfers in racing. His list of race victories is tremendous.
For Season 10, Edoardo Mortara, who won six races in six amazing seasons with Maserati MSG Racing and Venturi, is embarking on a new journey with Nyck de Vries and Mahindra Racing. The French-Italian-Swiss driver is keen to build on his impressive track record with Mahindra and assist the team in accomplishing its racing goals.
The record 17-race calendar for Season 10 gets underway on January 13, 2024, at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City.
