Toyota Gazoo has revealed an exceptional black livery for its GR010 Hypercar entries as it plans to return for the FIA World Endurance Championship next year.
The brand-new livery for both of the GR010 Hypercar entries that Toyota Gazoo Racing will be running in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship has been unveiled.
The new livery features a silver roof, red and white highlights on a matte black color scheme that reflects the sun to lower the temperature in the cockpit. Toyota refers this concept as “Prototype” and states that it symbolizes the manufacturer’s continuous evolution and development of cars bred for racing.
Toyota’s World Rally Championship racing cars as well as other sporting events, will all be run by the brand sporting the same basic matt black color scheme.
Since Toyota’s WEC program launch in 2012, the brand’s premier category prototypes have undergone four significant livery changes, with the 2024 livery being the latest.
When the factory team’s TS030 LMP1 Hybrid made its race debut at Le Mans, it stunned practically everyone by rolling up in blue and white livery after having previously been presented in red and white during public presentations and testing.
The program sported the same colors on the TS030 and TSO40 until the end of the 2015 season, when they switched to the same basic color scheme that has been adopted by the factory squad ever since.
Toyota maintained the same livery, albeit with minor styling modifications with the release of the TS050 in 2016 up to the GR010 in 2021 for the Hypercar era.
The crews of the two GR010 Hybrids, #7 Mike Conway / Kamui Kobayashi / Nyck de Vries and #8 Sébastien Buemi / Brendon Hartley / Ryo Hirakawa, are aiming for their sixth 24 Hours of Le Mans triumph and their seventh World Endurance Championship title in the 2024 season.
The 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season gets underway with the 1812km of Qatar on Saturday, March 2. Days beforehand, the now regular testing event dubbed The Prologue will take place in the same venue.
