Jake Garcia signs with ThorSport Racing for 2024 NASCAR Truck Series

Jake Garcia has signed with ThorSport Racing for his second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, the team announced on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old will continue racing in the Truck Series with ThorSport Racing after he campaigned for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing on a fulltime basis for the 2023 season, with the exception of Daytona.

Jake Garcia will drive alongside 2023 NASCAR Truck Series Champion Ben Rhodes as ThorSport is yet to confirm its full driver lineup.

Garcia is certainly joining ThorSport Racing to replace Hailie Deegan, who has signed a contract with AM Racing in the Xfinity Series, despite the fact that the team has not yet revealed its official driver lineup for the 2024 campaign.

The 18-year-old driver is anticipated to be running the #13 ThorSport Racing truck in the upcoming season. However, an official confirmation is still in the works.

“To have the chance to race for a championship organization like ThorSport Racing is huge for me,” Garcia said. “I’m extremely excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to get the 2024 season started.”

Jake Garcia drove for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2023 and finished three times in the top five, nine times in the top ten and one DNF. Daniel Dye could possibly be the driver set to replace Garcia at MHR for the upcoming season.

Given his young age, Garcia’s achievements in his brief racing career more than make up for a strong resume. He became the youngest driver to win the Southern Super Series in 2021.

Garcia was also named the 2021 Super Late Model track champion at Five Flags Speedway. Additionally, he won the Five Flags Super Pro Late Model in 2019 and was named the 2020 Southern Super Series Rookie of the Year.

The 18-year-old driver finished the season’s final race at Phoenix Raceway in second place, which was his best finish to date.

Garcia will be participating in every race for the first time in 2023 after he missed the 2023 season opener at Daytona owing to age restrictions. He is now eligible to compete in all twenty-three races.
