Lewis Hamilton will be available to players in a few days as the newest member of the Fortnite Icon Series.
Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton will appear in the Fortnite Icon Series which includes a live-action trailer and two unique in-game looks for the British driver.
Two outfits are available in the Lewis Hamilton Icon Series: a black Back Bling inspired by Hamilton’s bulldog Roscoe, a sword-themed Pickaxe and a Glider. However, there are noticeably no racing-centric additions to his skin.
Hamilton skins will be added to the game’s Icon Series, which already features partnerships with sports and pop culture icons, and will further merge both the physical and virtual worlds. They will be available in the Fortnite Item Shop on November 17 at 7 PM EST.
The Brit’s feature in the game is also accompanied by a live-action trailer that highlights his in-game skin. He appears in the teaser sporting two different looks: one is a striking zig-zag coat that embodies a “streetwear” aesthetic, and the other is an outfit that appears to be an inventive interpretation of a Formula 1 driver’s gear.
A noteworthy detail is the lack of Mercedes branding, which is noteworthy given Hamilton’s association with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 brand.
Sports legends like Lebron James, Neymar Jr., and Harry Kane as well as titans of pop culture like Ariana Grande, Mr. Beast, and Travis Scott have all collaborated on the game’s Icon Series in the past.
Lewis Hamilton’s addition serves to further cement Fortnite’s status as a hub where the virtual and physical worlds spectacularly meet.
