Alvaro Bautista was back out on the circuit riding a Ducati Desmosedici GP bike confirming that he definitely did not get the memo that the WorldSBK summer break had started.
Alvaro Bautista returned to the Misano World Circuit ‘Marco Simoncelli’ track this week after testing the Ducati Desmosedici GP back on June. He received the earlier test as a reward for winning the WorldSBK championship in 2022.
But after winning over the top Ducati brass, Bautista was back on a MotoGP motorcycle. This has fueled speculation that the WorldSBK Champion may compete in MotoGP as a wildcard rider later this year.
The Spaniard’s last full season in MotoGP before switching to WorldSBK was the 2018 campaign and since then, he has not participated at any MotoGP races.
“I’m really happy to have had another test with the MotoGP bike,” said Alvaro Bautista after his second two day test on a Ducati Desmosedici GP machine. “After the first test I did, the feeling was really good, and I felt comfortable on the bike. I wanted to repeat another test.
“After this two-day test, I’m very happy because we continued with the same progression from the first test. I’m getting a better feeling with the bike and a better reference.
“We improved our feeling on the bike. We started to work more on the setup for myself and I can say that it has been two really positive days of testing, getting better feedback day by day.”
