Chase Briscoe to race in Truck Series at Bristol

Chase Briscoe to race in Truck Series at Bristol

The opportunity to serve in two roles is expanding Chase Briscoe’s weekend schedule as he will collaborate with a new team at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Briscoe will return to the Craftsman Truck Series on Saturday, April 8, according to a press release. He will make his 29th start overall and his first since 2021 in the No. 22 Ford F-150 for AM Racing as his main partner will be Production Alliance Group.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity with AM Racing and Production Alliance Group,” Briscoe said in a statement. “I always look forward to the Bristol dirt weekend and to be able to get on track twice as much and feel things out will be a lot of fun and, I hope, really beneficial.”

“I know everyone at AM Racing has worked hard to get the truck ready and I think it’s anyone’s race when it comes to the dirt events.”

Briscoe has the most Truck Series experience from the 2017 campaign, when he competed for Brad Keselowski Racing full-time and finished sixth in the standings. He won his first race of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the same year, which marked the beginning of his winning streak.

Briscoe has made five other starts since his sole campaign. With ThorSport Racing, two of them took place at Eldora Speedway, resulting in a victory in 2018 and a seventh-place finish in 2019.

The remaining three starts all occurred in 2021 while he was a Roper Racing driver. He participated in Bristol Motor Speedway’s debut Truck Series dirt race and placed fifth. After that, he visited Knoxville Raceway and Kansas Speedway to round off the year.

“I got the chance to run Bristol a few years ago, and I’ve run the truck race at Knoxville, so I’ve got a good idea of how the truck itself will act on dirt,” Briscoe said.

“It’ll really just come down to how the track surface changes and whether things can stay green for long enough to make a move.”

“I love going back to the Truck Series so hopefully I’ll be able to pick up my second dirt win in a truck this weekend.”

The Craftsman Truck Series has been a fixture for AM Racing, which was founded in December 2015 and boasts drivers like Austin Wayne Self, Brett Moffitt, and Max Gutierrez among others. Besides that, the team has taken part in the ARCA Menards Series.

The 2023 season will continue this plan, with Christan Rose serving as the main driver in the ARCA Menards Series and a changing cast of drivers in the Truck Series. With Moffitt driving the No. 25 Ford Mustang on a full-time basis, AM Racing also made its Xfinity Series debut.

The team’s finest performances in each series came from Josh Reaume (19th in the Truck Series season opener) and Rose (12th in the ARCA season opener). In his Xfinity Series comeback, Moffitt has two top-10 results, the best of which is sixth at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Now Briscoe will get a chance to lead the team to victory. He will take control of the No. 22 Ford F-150 at a circuit where he has previous experience, and he will go for his second Truck Series victory of his career on a dirt track.

“AM Racing is thrilled to have Chase Briscoe behind the wheel of our No. 22 Production Alliance Group|Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts Ford F-150 at Bristol,” said AM Racing president Wade Moore.

“We started putting the wheels in motion about having Chase drive for us at Bristol right around Daytona and once we knew he was interested, we have been steadily preparing for this race.”

“Chase is a talented race car driver but his experience and feedback on dirt will be a huge asset to our organization as we chase our first career win in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.”

“Without a doubt, we believe Chase will not only put our team in contention, but he will have an opportunity to also win his third career Truck Series race.”
