Ferrari unveils yellow-themed livery for Italian Grand Prix

Ferrari’s eye-catching special edition livery in red and yellow for the Italian Grand Prix weekend has been unveiled.

As part of its ongoing celebration of its founding 75 years ago, Ferrari has unveiled a special livery for this weekend’s Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix.

The Italian Grand Prix event will be utilized to celebrate the Scuderia’s 75th anniversary and the 100th anniversary of Monza. The team has updated its livery for the occasion, much as it had done for the celebrations of its 1000th race at Mugello two years prior.

The front wing, the area around the halo, the engine cover, and the back wing of the F1-75 will all have numerous black inserts with yellow accents.

Throughout the weekend, Ferrari drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will also don yellow race suits. Serving as a tribute to Modena, yellow, which is recognized as Ferrari’s second color, appears on the symbol designed by Enzo Ferrari.

“From the Scuderia’s beginnings in 1929 and later when the car company was founded 75 years ago, Enzo Ferrari chose yellow, which along with blue is one of the colours of the Modena emblem, to feature on the company’s coat of arms, the Prancing Horse with the tricolour band at the top,” a statement from Ferrari read.

“It’s a very special look to mark a very special occasion, the 100-year anniversary of the Monza circuit.”

Ferrari is seeking its first victory on Italian home ground since Leclerc’s triumph in 2019 as it competes in its home round. It has had numerous chances, with Imola’s return in 2020 and Mugello’s one-time appearance that same year, but it hasn’t added on any race win.

Ferrari has recently faced some challenges as its chances of winning the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships have diminished. The most recent of its four victories, in Austria in July, pales in comparison to the 11 victories rival Red Bull has racked up through the first 15 grand prix races.

Recent races have seen Mercedes battle a revived Ferrari, and the defending World Champions are now only 30 points behind in the race for second place.
